Wandering Minstrels... With no fixed abode, SoulJahm have been moving around Europe, living out of a suitcase for the past 3 years. During this time we began making Music, writing songs on ukulele and melodica. With just a laptop, some recording software, a budget microphone and whatever instruments we had at hand we began recording the songs we had been writing over this period, learning and developing as we went.
In July 2011 we found ourselves staying in an apartment in Milan which happened to have a piano in it. In the space of 5 days, we used this as the backbone for a bunch of these songs, recording piano parts, to which we later added further tracks of instruments wherever and whenever we could. These recordings became known as "Sketches of Europa" and are still a work-in-progress.Originally, they were intended as private demos but gradually we began to make them public, creating videos from footage of our travels. We have now decided to release these songs in their rough and ready state as digital single downloads, along with the various free live acoustic recordings and new songs we have recorded on our travels.
