This song was written around about the year 2000 and featured on the
David William album "One Way Ticket" in 2006. It describes the way you
can feel alone and unsettled inside when all on the outside suggests
otherwise - ie. feeling melancholy on a summer's day.
It is still
looking for its rightful arrangement. This is the first SoulJahm
performance of it and coincidentally happens to be made public on the
Summer Solstice.
She was the summer in your eyes
You watch her light move on from above
Burn a candle in my veins
All the things you can't explain
Dirty feelings wash over your mind
And if you don't like what you see inside
Just close your eyes
Nothing will escape no need to deny
The tears that you hide
Consider where you will find
The hope you feel you've traded for love
Talk until this darkness falls
Through the floor below your hold
Rising up just let the weight pass on through
And if you don't like what you see inside
Just close your eyes
Nothing will escape no need to deny
The tears that you hide
Don't you know that it waits outside
There lies a dream you hide behind your eyes
In the pouring rain when there's no-one to blame this time
This time
And if you don't like what you see inside
Just close your eyes
Nothing will escape no need to deny
The tears that you hide
